I strongly suggest that they get more shipping locations because some of us dont live anyware near one. I live on a friggen island and it took the gamefly people about a week and and a half. (11 days) I think that gamfly is good for the people who live near their shipping stations. but crap for everyone else. By coolieo from st. thomas VI

I am currently looking into filing a class action lawsuit against Gamefly.
A couple of years ago I was a member with them. Well I had rented three games from them. I returned 2 of them, which they said they never recieved and still had one more out, which I actually thought my wife had returned after she was done playing, which I found on my move to Alaska, that I returned to the company as well as a money order for $19.98 to cover the cost of the used games. They kept the money order and returned the game.
Well recently I checked my credit report as they are trying to charge me $187 for all three games. According to their website and commercials, keep as long as you like and return when you are done. There is no fine line as to the length of time.
Please contact if you have had the same problems. By meadoman from Juneau, AK

We've found that in the past two months, it doesn't matter what you want, if you want it for the PS3, it will never happen. They have a system that tells you the likelihood a game will ship to you if you have an open slot, and it's amazing that "High Availability" means a greater than 75% chance of that game shipping. Right now I have 12 games on my queue with a "High Availability," and an open slot. 1 of at least 9 of those games should have shipped shipped today, because I understand math. Those games were all highly available yesterday too, yet again, no game was sent. They have had 18 opportunities to send us a game in 2 days, and haven't. I've been a customer for 2 years and I have yet to reccomend them to anyone. And I never will at this rate. By Drew from Lubbock

I have used this service 2 times. The first time it was pretty good. The second time around was not a good experience. If you ask me it is not worth the money, this based upon the ridiculously slow shipping times and a one in a million chance of getting a popular game in your queue. Very frustrating when you are waiting over a week for a game that is WAY DOWN in your queue. It's a total waste of money at this time. It would be well worth it if they would increase their inventory to meet the demand of their customers and added more shipping centers to get the game shipped in a reasonable amount of time. I would hold off on using them until they correct these problems. By Onetime from Denver, CO

Slow shipping & no availability are the norm here. It's a good concept (renting games), yet poorly executed by gamefly. I'm under the impression since no business is doing this well- it just won't be a successful business model. At any rate, the temptation is great, and if you do succumb, you'll probably end up cancelling due to lack of availability with any recent title and incredibly slow ship speeds throughout the country. I'm absolutely convinced the date they claim a title being shipped is nowhere near when actual shipping takes place. By mynamehear from Phoenix

They could really do better. At this point, they should probably just be ashamed of themselves. If you are 7 or 8 and you want to rent the little comic games that nobody plays or cartoon movie knock-offs, you'll be fine. However, if you want to get your hands on popular titles, you'll either wait forever, or just not get anything. I had ten games in my Q and got nothing for three weeks at one point. That tells me they are collecting a lot of subscription fees and those fees are going somewhere other than the core business. By That's Aweful! from Dallas, TX

Gamefly is a great service, but it depends on where you live, i live in san antonio and the shipping centers in austin so i usually get my games in 5-7 days, plus the honesty and dependability of your postal route will play a part. If you lose 3 games they will cancel you membership, So it just depends on location, cause if your in the wrong place, its just not worth the trouble. By Dre from San Antonio TX

Gamefly is slow for my region. Way TOO slow. The amount of time it takes to get *a* game you *MIGHT* want is about 8 days.
If you want a certain game, you have to manage your queue with 1 or 2 games only. That's not something that should happen. The definition of a queue is something of a mystery to gamefly. They won't send you want you want unless you have NO other items in your queue and it is in stock.
Renting games from the local game rental shop would be less of a struggle and way cheaper. Gamefly expresses that no late fees and free delivery saves you money. It doesn't, it only wastes your time in the Midwest. Calculate the time it takes to get the game, the time you can play the game, and the ability to get the game you want. You come to the conclusion that they are basically stealing your money to pay for their massive advertising costs.
After using the service for 3 months, I canceled. They will not refund your money for the time paid for. What a joke! When I tried to cancel, they threw offers at me left and right during the cancelation process. I just wanted to cancel and it took 5 clicks of "Continue to cancel membership" and an email. About 3 minutes after I canceled I started to received *what I consider* spam from them in my email. By canceling my account, I do not want to receive offers to sign back up.
If they had a shipping center in the middle of the country and took care of their customers, I am sure that my problems wouldn't exist and I would give them a positive rating because I could play the games I want to without wild expectations. By fantomstranger from Minnesota, USA

What I wanted: A game rental company where I can have two games out at a time, play games for a couple weeks, return them, and repeat.
What I got: A game rental company where I can put games in a Queue, wait a couple weeks, get a game, play it a couple weeks, return it, and see that no other games in my queue have shipped.
I was a member for four months and in that time I got games at the top of my queue only once. I had to constantly 'settle' for games further down my queue. When I decided to not use the queue system, instead just putting in games I really WANTED, i had to wait days for them to come in.
For the price and the roulette-type luck of getting your game I'll stick to my local rental store. By Mike from Columbus, OH

I signed up for Gamefly on 2/6/09. It's now 2/21/09 and I haven't received any games; only bulls*** excuses about shipping. I live in Virginia and there distribution center is in Pennsylvania. For those that don't know that's only one state over. Dude i receive bills from California within 2 business days and Gamefly can't send me a game deom one state over! So basically I wasted $22.95 that I could have put toward a new game. Thanks Gamefly thanks alot. Buyers beware this a crappy service and I would encourgae everyone not to get it! OK; I used Gamefly when it first came out back when I had a PS2. It was great; huge selection and they always had games available....That was then; this is now.
I now have a XBOX 360. Out of 436 games they carry; only 16 are available!?!?!?!?!? All are games you never heard of. I have 10 games in my queue and only 1 is available. I doubt I will renew my membership By gdepp from Atlanta

I purchased a Gamefly membership as a Christmas gift for my son. As of today (1/22/09) he has not received anything but numerous email excuses. We have lost the $22.95 for the first month of membership; when I continued with the cancellation, I received a disclaimer that stated I would not receive a refund.
This is one hell of a scam. I basically paid to see my kid's excitement as he placed over 50 titles in his queque on Christmas morning. This afternoon we went to Circuit City and bought him Guitar Hero III and an 8G I-Pod for less than a year's membership with Gamefly.
We have had a Netflix membership for over a year and have been extremely satisfied. Since Gamefly is advertized within Netflix ads we thought it was a safe bet. I have already notified Netflix. By the way, before you look at other Internet game memberships make sure to ask them if they are affiliated with Gamefly. They apparently are selling their lousey service under other names.
